Calling businesses and community groups to join Match My Project
Match My Project is an online platform where businesses can donate items needed by community groups.
Hackney Giving, the local giving programme run by Hackney CVS, has joined up with the Chesham Arms in Homerton to field a team of runners for the Hackney Half this weekend. The team includes pub regulars and staff and they’ll be wearing specially designed shirts featuring both the Hackney Giving and Chesham Arms logos.
Hackney Giving Programme Manager, Sarah Watson, who is running in the event, said: “We’re excited to have runners in the Hackney Half wearing Hackney Giving shirts. I’m delighted to be one of them and proud to be taking Hackney Giving round with me as I run. All of us at Hackney Giving want to give a massive thank you to all our runners and to the Chesham Arms for its support.”
Hackney Giving funds community organisations in Hackney and the City. Since 2020, we have distributed more than £2million in grants to local charity projects, with an emphasis on helping people in need during the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. To support our runners with a donation, please go to https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/chesham-arms-hackney-giving.
The Hackney Half takes place this Sunday, 19 May, when thousands of runners, many running in aid of charities in the area, will complete the 13.1 mile course through the streets of Hackney.
We want to wish all participants good luck. And if you’re watching and spot someone in a Hackney Giving shirt, please give them a wave and an extra big cheer!
