Thank you to the Lido and its swimmers!
Swimmers at London Fields Lido have donated more than £2000 towards Hackney Giving’s Cost of Living appeal, meaning more support for community groups locally.
This week we invited local businesses to come together for an evening of wine, nibbles and lively discussion. Businesses big and small were welcome.
It was an opportunity to learn about Hackney Giving, meet local not-for-profit organisations and discuss how we can all work together for a fairer society.
The event took place on 19 November, at Hackney CVS’s conference room.
The evening included presentations, exhibitions and the chance to meet other people who care about Hackney.
Tamara Wiltshire, Community Giving and Partnerships Coordinator at Hackney Giving, said: “We held the event to engage businesses with a view to encouraging them to donate funds, time, skills and resources to Hackney Giving. The event was attended by businesses, community organisations, councillors, Match My Project team and individuals.”
Tamara also said: “The event was successful because businesses learned about what Hackney Giving does in the community and ways they can support Hackney Giving and the community. Attendees were able to network and connect and were encouraged to advocate for Hackney Giving as the charity of choice in Hackney.”
She added: “We intend to continue to reach out and engage businesses and individuals with an aim to garnering support for Hackney Giving. Additionally, we intend to continue to support VCS organisations in Hackney and City of London.”

Hackney Giving recently led a walking tour of four community projects to show some of the great work that local voluntary and community sector organisations are doing.
