Thank you to the Lido and its swimmers!

Swimmers make a big splash for Hackney Giving’s grants

A big thank you to London Fields Lido and its swimmers.

The lido invites visitors to take lost property items and to make a donation to Hackney Giving.

This ongoing support has generated more than £2,000 for Hackney Giving’s Cost of Living campaign.

Donations that Hackney Giving receives from the community – including those made by lido swimmers – has so far enabled us to fund an additional eight community projects.

This is vital work that helps provide food, help with bills or programmes to prevent people from getting into debt.

Liza Loginova, Assistant Manager at London Fields Lido, said: “Hackney Giving has been a valued partner for London Fields Lido for several years. We are so proud and pleased to be working with a charity that supports our local community in meaningful ways – we believe wholeheartedly in giving back to the community and donating to Hackney Giving is a way to ensure our support has a genuine positive impact.”

One organisation wrote to us to explain how the grant had helped them support vulnerable families. They said:

“You have enabled us to bring warmth, comfort, and light to families who face particular challenges during the winter months.”

“Many families shared with us how much it meant to feel remembered and supported at a time of year that can otherwise be overwhelming. The vouchers helped transform their holidays into moments of celebration, connection, and happiness – something that would not have been possible without your assistance.”

Next time you’re at the Lido, have a look at the noticeboard and know that swimmers picking up a water bottle really are making a difference to people here in Hackney.
