£153k allocated to community groups supporting residents with cost of living. Hackney Giving has distributed just over £153,000 in funding from the Cost of Living grants scheme.

Grants awarded to reduce isolation through street parties. Earlier this summer, we invited local organisations to apply for grants of £750 to hold street parties or other events that bring people together.

Supporting residents over the summer and beyond The increased cost of living is continuing to have an impact on Hackney’s communities and by working in partnership with the Council, we have been able to distribute a further £75,000 to help.

Thanks to generous donations from businesses and individuals, Hackney Giving was able to make four grants this winter to help residents to deal with the increased cost of living.

Hackney Young People’s University received a grant of £4,996 to run healthy eating sessions with young people.

Hackney Chinese Community Services (HCCS) was founded in 1985 and continues to serve the local East and South East Asian communities in the borough.

MRS Independent Living helps people from communities that have been marginalised and excluded, take action and find solutions to challenges they are facing.

Hackney Giving funded Turkish Cypriot Community Association (TCCA) through its coronavirus response round.

Activiteens was set up in 2004 to relieve the needs of disadvantaged young people by providing out-of-school clubs, mentoring services, day and overnight trips and vocational training courses.
