Walking tour highlights inspiring community projects
Hackney Giving recently led a walking tour of four community projects to show some of the great work that local voluntary and community sector organisations are doing.
Last week, we led a walking tour of four community projects in Hackney to show some of the great work that local voluntary and community sector organisations are doing. Our guests included two new Hackney CVS trustees and partners from three businesses that support Hackney Giving.
The tour visited four community organisations in Hackney:
Sarah Watson, Hackney Giving’s Programme Manager, said: “It’s always good to see for ourselves what the groups we support are doing for people, and to share their work with colleagues from other sectors.”
One of our guests, writing on LinkedIn, said “What stood out throughout the tour was the dedication of the people behind these organisations, and the role that Hackney Giving and Hackney CVS play in supporting them. Their work is quietly transformative, improving everyday lives and shifting long-term outcomes for those who need it most. It offered a powerful reminder of what community action looks like in practice, and the difference we can make when we come together with purpose”
We aim to hold a further community tour in the new year. If you’re interested in participating, either as an organisation that we could visit, or as a guest to come along and see what’s happening on the ground to support communities, please email Sarah.
