Walking tour highlights inspiring community projects
Hackney Giving recently led a walking tour of four community projects to show some of the great work that local voluntary and community sector organisations are doing.
The Chesham Arms in Homerton held its annual pumpkin carving competition on 30 October and chose Hackney Giving as the cause to benefit from funds raised.
Pub guests carved some fantastic lanterns to light the way into winter. There were several faces to scare away the baddies as well as a Bugs Bunny, the iconic AC/DC logo and the winner: the ghostbusters symbol.
The pub garden looked 100% monster-proof with the candle-lit lanterns glowing under the awning. And there were definitely no ghosts allowed!
A massive thank you to our friends at The Chesham Arms and to everyone who took part and donated. The money raised will go towards community projects in Hackney and the City of London that support health and wellbeing or which bring people together to reduce isolation.
